Somehow, whenever he tried to surprise El, it turned out like this. Peter stared at the felted, misshapen wad of wool that had been her new sweater. The "hand-wash only" tag poked up at him reproachfully.
Women's clothing was so fussy.
And...there was a lump in the pocket of those jeans...
He pulled it out and groaned. The little green bundle was fused together, but he could just read "20" on the corner.
Peter was prodding at it hopelessly when Neal walked in.
"Oh, Peter...money laundering?" Neal shook his head sorrowfully. "Here's a tip: you're doing it wrong."
