In a past life
We were childhood friends
I was your next door neighbor
You were my favorite blanket
I was your brother and you were my sister
You were my son and I was your mother
I was your pet dog
You were my sensei
I was the grass between your toes
You were the wind in the trees
that rustled the leaves
And made me listen.

We wore capes and mexican wrestling masks
We rode trains and build forts
We swam in the ocean
We played fetch in the sand.
We found secret paths in forests
And spoke with the Dead.
