R.I.P. Bruce Campbell

Bruce was put to sleep a few hours ago. He had started having seizures today and we brought him to the vet. They didn't know what was wrong, but in order to find out and treat him, it would have been thousands of dollars, and what they thought was wrong is difficult to treat. I couldn't let him hurt, so i made the decision to have him euthanized. He cried in agony nonstop the whole way to the vet, and while we were there. I held him the whole time and Dylan sat with us. In the grief room, we could hear him yowling as the nurse brought him in to us. Once she put him in my arms and I started petting him, he stopped crying and started purring and kneading the blankets he was wrapped in.

So all those people who say animals can't love, yeah, go fuck yourselves with a butcher knife. Hard.

Bruce was amazing. Everything one would ask for in a cat. He would follow me around whenever I was home. When you called his name, he came running. He loved to play with bottle caps. He was always in the mood to be loved and cuddled, and he was nearly always purring. The cats in my house hate each other, but they all got along with Bruce. He was the tie that made them all family. They would groom him and tolerate each other when he was around. Bruce was a true diplomat.

I'll miss him forever.
