another Xmas Entry

I like the fact that everyone has very different Xmas days. On a day that from afar, we all seem to do the same things... Family, Food & Presents... it is amazing how these three little things can differ so much from house to house.

This year I stayed in Wellington and on Christmas eve went over to my Aunt's House, where my Uncle & Aunt also had my cousin, her partner & my Uncle's Father staying.
Samantha is in Chch until the 22nd of Jan.

On Christmas morning they have their neighbours over for a Christmas BBQ breakfast - good way to start the day really :)
At about 8:30am I rang Sam & she told me all the things that Santa had brought her & she seemed very happy indeed.
Then Mum rang & told me that my little sister (28) had staggered in drunk at 3:30am that morning, fell over on the lawn & shattered her ankle. Of course the shattering was not immediately identified - partly due to drunkiness & partly due to the overall lack of medical experience within the house. So much drama (no doubt) ensued, & sister was taken to the hospital, where she then was transferred from Oamaru to Dunedin. Oamaru hospital is like a medical clinic as far as I can tell, they don't seem to actually do much there.

Not a good Xmas for my family down south.

My Christmas on the other hand was fine, good company, good food, good weather - nice & sunny. had a few drinks, no disasters. I got some great presents & then i went back to my house on boxing day.

Meanwhile, my sister is to have an operation on her ankle today (Monday) & apparently wont be able to do anything for 6 weeks... which includes going back to Melbourne, so Mum is going to have to look after her for a month longer than anticipated & hopefully Sister wont loose her job... although nor will she be paid until she gets back! I'm not even sure how the ACC thing will work out here.

Last night I made 2 types of chocolate truffles & am contemplating a 3rd variety. Also cleaning my house so far is going well & I am planning a small New Year's party :)
