[20:32:57] (no seriously I love this game)

A co-worker of mine gave me the promo for Rock Band 3, so I nabbed the office Rock Band guitar on loan to play at home. About three songs in (and having always appreciated Harmonix) I wanted to play through the first two games, so now I'm working my way through Rock Band 1.

Sure it's a shame solo career doesn't actually allow you to create a band, but even as a "mere" guitar hero career, it's still wonderful. The song selection is impeccable, I even like playing songs I don't usually like listening to (Bon Jovi, The Clash).

I love the little incidental animations of the band members on stage, their facial expressions as they get really into playing with all their might and passion. The way the crowd sings along to the lyrics, shouting out parts the vocalists themselves don't. It all brings a smile to your face, and the atmosphere (I am playing with headphones so I don't even hear the clicks and clanks of the guitar) is wonderful. It's a beautiful celebration of music and love for the performance.

I just wish I could track down my own stratocaster, as this one is pretty worked out. No one seems to be selling them anymore ;____;
