If I could actually be reeling at this point, I would be. Still, I wasn't. It was like I was watching everything happen to someone else. My mind was working through all of the mystery, but emotionally I was numb.
I mean, I should be ecstatic. I not only got my old job back, but I'd been promoted to head of R+I. I even had a shiny new ID to prove it.On the other hand, the God-King hadn't eliminated Angel and his friends after I had died. I couldn't help but fear the worst. If they had actually hurt her-
I don't know what I would do. Either way, I wasn't looking forward to seeing Wesley, let alone being civil with the man.
And had I actually met the Senior Partners? That'd be something to write home about, if my mom didn't think I was dead and buried in some freak accident.
Only one problem with their whole plan. I'd been instructed to go to C+D before popping off to the mortal plan, and I just couldn't find it. I didn't even know what it was! Wolf had told me to go there, but if Hell was anything like the actual firm, then everyone would call it something else. R+D was usually called "The Laboratory", R+I was usually called "the place where that paranoid loser,Wyndham-Pryce lurks", ect. I'd already asked a few people lurking about where to located "C+D". I only received blank looks.
I had resorted to knocking on office doors, even if most appeared to be empty. Finally I rapped on one of them, turning the handle a bit to test it.
It opened.
It was about then that I realized that I might not want to have a conversation with whatever was inside. It had to be some high ranking demon, after all.
((Open to Wes))
