[art] Lt. Commander Steve McGarrett [Hawaii Five-0]
So I got the urge to draw something today. I got out my tablet intending to take a crack at some graphics or something and ended up painting (digitally) for some four or five hours. First time I've drawn anything since finishing my first (and only) semester of art school last fall. I'm not entirely happy with all of it (the mouth! egads, the mouth! I had to re-draw it so many times I eventually said "screw it, it's staying" and left it as is. And the shirt is sloppy because I was pretty past caring at that point.) But overall it didn't turn out so bad, considering the last time I drew anything with my tablet was in...2008 or so.
Anyway.
I kind of wish the colors had been a bright brighter but I was working off a reference (which I altered and won't put up simply because it'll make my drawing look really bad. Trust me.) so I used the eyedropper to steal the appropriate colors. This reminded me of why I don't generally color, because a) it takes forever, and b) it's a huge pain in the ass. If I draw anything else in the near future, I'll definitely stick to black and white. Monochrome is my first love for painting. <3
