YOU SAY YOU'LL UNDERSTAND, BUT I KNOW YOU CAN'T.

i woke up late after considering waking up early but i was so comfortable i just stayed in bed. i slept like a baby. in the early morning, i had a dream that my family was staying at a hotel and we had adopted a bunch of dogs and some other pets like birds and stuff, except all the animals were those toys you put in water and they grow. it was very light and whimsical. i was fascinated.

when i woke up, i called mike to finalize today's plans and then i cleaned my room. it was probably the first time in like three months since i had actually been able to sit on my couch for all the clean clothes i had not put away. having everything in order was quite calming. after that, i cleaned out my purse and wallet to make way for my new ID, which came today! i actually really like my picture too. such a relief.

when mike showed up, we went to the theater, bought tickets with a combination of picture ID and DMV paperwork, which surprisingly went smoother than i thought. we saw Kick Ass, which was actually really good. i was expecting it to be good, but before i thought it would be stupid... anyway...

there was wayyyy more blood and violence than i expected, but it was done very well. not too cheesy until the very end with Hit Girl, but whatever. i was expecting it to be funnier, but it was pretty funny. i thought it was done well. it was certainly enjoyable.

we got home and watched Up In the Air, which was cute but really sad. it led up to an interesting message about modernizing companies and unemployment and business stuff. i thought it was done really well, especially the twist at the end when she is married. very bittersweet.

later, we watched Mulholland Drive, which was interesting to say the least. everything was sort of overdramatic and strange... but not in a specifically good or even bad way. it just was. By the end, it made some sense, especially when deeply analyzed. some parts were incredibly slow, though, and much of it was ridiculously overdramatic. i'd assume it was all intentional though. it's not a movie i would recommend for date night though.
