The gentleman from Kansas

Back to work.

Fell off my bike (having slipped on slick, wet pavement) in the Hart garage today. Fortunately, I was wearing my nifty new garage-sale-purchased bike gloves and I was fully protected.

Nice enough day at work without too much boredom.

Hopped on over to House side for a talk given by Bob Dole. He was really, really funny and I very much enjoyed it. He made cracks about the elections, Monica and, yes, Viagra. It was a kick.

Did whatever in the office until 5 when I went back to Canon (where Dole had been) for some free Cuban food and presentation on Cuban oppression. It was a pretty powerful film and some damn good food.

Came home, did whatever. Decided to see a movie, so I biked down to Union Station and just. caught The Bourne Supremacy. Not a good story, but some awesome filmmaking. Biked home in a beautiful (if dampening) thunderstorm.

In order to make dinner (cous cous) I borrowed a pot from neighbors Bryan, Robyn and Chris. When I returned the ware, I stayed over for some lively discussion. 2 hours and 2 beers later, we had argued the crap out of the legitimacy of human interest stories in news media. We also found the
chance to read and discuss some of The Onion and have some good conversation, which I have missed.

Crossed the street to find a somewhat drunk Niko fumbling with his keys in the door to our house. I gave him a hand.
