The original (?) idea of this meme was to post a comment containing the word "beep" and have five questions thrown at you. I you want to be interviewed too, include the word "frumious" in a comment.
Questions by
erunion, and my answers:
1. Who has been an inspiration to you?
First - and this is not to say "shame on you" - I don't like the word "inspiration" because of
the way it's commonly (mis)used, especially in connection with disability. However, if I take it to mean "who has had a major constructive influence on you and/or your way of thinking?" then I think C. S. Lewis would be by far the safest bet. His writings have been a gateway into many worlds for me, and their unified nature has helped me grasp some of the basic patterns in the universe. A great teacher.
2. How would you categorize your writing style?
I would not. :) Do you mean characterize? I think it is highly imitative - echolalic, if you will. I often feel I use words that are not my own to formulate my thoughts.
3. What is your advice to those under the age of 13?
(What makes you think I could answer this? I'm not sure I've even been that age, emotionally speaking. The following isn't actually my advice, but one of the best I could think of:)
If and when and insofar as you find out: don't be afraid of/avoid/deny who you are. If others are not like you, don't be afraid of/ignore/bully them; find out what they are like.
(The next two questions should really have the same answer, but since you ask two questions, I will give you two answers.)
4. What do you think is your greatest need at the moment?
Finding a balance / building a bridge between my inner and outer "worlds" has top priority at the moment. After that, finding the right thing to focus on, and the right way to do it. Which may very well be another way of saying the same thing.
5. Humankind's?
What I generally demand of people (including myself) could be summed up as: "Stop. Think. Do." What I know we need is... to fall in love with God, goodness, life. Joy. I don't know if it would be enough, but anything less is pretty certain not to be.
