I'm on wet-weather standby and have for a couple of days now. It's great to get a break and still be paid, but I have a new trainee geo and it'd be nice to be able to actually show him what to do, or even what a rig looks like.
Thought I'd post something today, as i got up and had breakfast, played some computer game, and then had a shower and got dressed. just jeans and a casual shirt and threw on my slippers/ugg boots around the room. Kerryn (Kaz) and Fleur were sitting at the motel's communal table so I wandered outside, and we were soon joined by Daniel (my new trainee geo) and we chatted for an hour or two. Dan and I then went over to the Criterion Hotel for lunch. I had roast lamb, was yummy. We shared a bottle of Cab Sav and then came back with a second bottle for later. We're going to play board games this arvo since there are 4 of us sitting around. I realised as we were walking back to the motel that I was still wearing my ugg boots. I was so ashamed. I feel almost local.
