The Hitchhiker's Guide to Insanity
If I'm going to get somewhere in life,
I'll probably need a ride.
If you really want to help me out,
You'll have to let a few things slide.

When things are finally looking up for me,
Something comes along to cause a little more pain.
This is when the driver finally picks me up,
But he can only drive me insane.

When I'm not my normal self,
I'll probably say something you won't like.
I hope you can stay with me because
I'm in the middle of nowhere and don't want to hitchhike.

Walking down the street, thumb out in hope,
hoping a friend sees me along the road.
I won't make it home if I'm alone,
and I need someone to help carry my load.

You don't need to be too strong,
Just be there for me.
I need to let it all out of my mind,
But it seems I lost the key.

I thought I heard a car drive past
While my thumb was busy making a call.
But if your voice can take me home,
I don't need a ride after all.
