Imaginary Friends?
I can be standing right beside you
And you may not know I’m there,
Whenever I decide to speak up,
I always get at least one blank stare.
I know what it is to be invisible,
But at least someone knows I’m real.
As I fade out of your line of sight,
Imagine everything else I could conceal.
Who could she be talking to?
Could it be her imaginary friend?
I am just some random guy,
Nobody knows when I’ll come back again.
I really enjoy talking to people like her.
Each time we talk, I can open up a little more
I don’t find too many others
I believe I can do that for.
We may be the only two
Who understand our conversation,
But that doesn’t make me
A figment of anyone’s imagination.
I can always remain invisible,
but imaginary isn’t a possibility.
The only thing imagination has created here
Is a little bit of compatibility.
