if you're interested,
1.
download this, print it out, and fill it out using a nice solid black inky pen. (
a pilot precise pen with the inkwell inside? perfect. a sharpie, a ballpoint ben, or a pencil? all wrong.)
2. on a separate blank piece of paper, write me a few sentences about whatever, so i can get a sense of your letter spacing. please make one of them, the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. the rest should be completely random and whatever. include as much punctuation as you can!
3. make sure your letters are positioned properly in the chart. refer to this:
4. scan both in greyscale as a 300 or 600dpi bitmap, and save as a .gif or .bmp preferably, or a .png or max quality .jpg less preferably, but DON'T RESIZE them.
5. if you don't want all of those weird characters like the pound and the euro and the approximately sign, doodle in the spaces. i'll put in whatever is there.
6. decide what you want me to name it, because when it's done, it'll be [whateveryoupicked].ttf. put that in the signature block instead of your actual signature (why would anyone want that in their font where anyone could get it?? so weird that they added that block).
7.
email me the two files and let me know if i'm allowed to offer it as a download on my design site or if you're keeping it all to yourself. two things you are agreeing to by submitting your samples to me are that i can use it in any graphic work want to and that i can post an image of the finished product here, but other than that, whether or not it's distributable is completely up to you.
** i've heard that hotmail and yahoo resize images to shrink file size, so if you have email through either of those, use a different provider or let me know and i'll send you ftp info so you can upload it to me directly.
it might take me a little while to get it done, but i will do it! if i don't respond to your email when you send it, comment here or email me again because sometimes gmail's spam catcher can be really randomly sensitive. ♥
eta: wtf, semagic? i think the errors are gone now.
