Originally uploaded by kittenlogicrhinebeck this year was pretty uneventful. it was super cold, so like 50% of the crowd was missing. either that, or we (cousin sarah and me) went later than usual? but i don't think so ... i remember we left late last year and screwed around a lot, too, so we probably got there around the same time. but anyway, you could actually walk through the barns without having 100 people with strollers bashing into your legs to get you to move, and you could actually get in a line and pay for your stuff in the same hour.
incredibly disappointing was waiting too long to go to littlebarn's tent - they had the suuuuuuuper cheap, super soft superwash BFL again for only $6.99/8oz, but it was completely sold out T_T i did get 4 lbs of superwash 64s merino for the same price though, which will be nice to dye. then of course i spent WAY too much money at creativelydyed's tent, but got some delightful fibers that i will photograph after i take a nap. i was also very pleased by our lunch choice - we waited in the half hour line at the pastrami cart, and it was totally worth it. i had a pastrami on rye and some pierogies for lunch. yumm.
the drive was totally reasonable and didn't take forever, and we came back and met my cousin, his girlfriend, and my uncle in new brunswick to go to this ethiopian place for dinner. (sarah said it was kind of inappropriate/ironic that we were dining at a place whose country was known for its starvation problem, and i did feel sorta bad.) it's a lot like indian food, more like moroccan food, if you've ever had that, but their "deal" is that you eat with your hands? like everything is served on this super thin pancake and you rip pieces of it off and scoop your food with it. interesting. tasty, but insanely overpriced. but that's the cost of novelty.
so anyway, that was that. i forgot my camera and we were kind of rushed because we were freezing! so unfortunately you don't get the usual, thoroughly detailed rundown. i also wanted the gentleman to come, but he has had a totally "fucky" (his word) schedule the past week and a half, so there was no way. sad. there's always next year! ♥
