i get an "out of area" call earlier and i don't usually answer those, but i did because i know ben's on the way back to VA. here's the conversation.
person: hello, amber?
me: yeah?
person: this is blah blah fromt the fraternal order of police ... [on and on about their program]. so we're going to go ahead and send you a decal if you'll accept it.
me: err, yeah, if i don't have to pay for it.
person: well, all it's going to cost you is a donation from $70 down to $35, whatever you'd like to donate. what can we count on you for today?
me: uh ... nothing? i have like 0 dollars.
person: ... well, you can donate $25 instead.
me: yeah ... i don't have $25 in my bank account is what i'm trying to tell you.
person: ..................................
me: sorry?
person: [hangs up.]
i didn't really know if i should be offended or amused, so i decided to laugh. it's a fucking recession!
