ahh, vacation.
there's nothing like wandering around my apartment aimlessly, maybe cleaning and maybe not, deciding that i want a cup of coffee and being able to have one, and most importantly, being able to go to the bathroom when i need to go.
i'm still waiting on the shelter to call me about nick - i hope i end up getting his handsome ass.
so i got this stuff for christmas:
- a wii! (for ben and i both) with a bunch of games
- a red kitchenaid mixer (i almost want to bake something today but have no butter or milk)
- red silicone cupcake cups with rack, two cake pans, and 1 9x9 square pan
- garlic press
- nice knives
- coffee and tea
- a lot of soap
- a hideously ugly purse from my grandmother, which i will be returning
- awesome PJ pants which i am wearing right now
- slippers i stole from my grandmother
- a broken spice rack from my uncle who lives in a basement
- snakes on a plane
- restaurant gift certificates
- a mall gift certificate
- a matching purse and wallet from my cuz
- lovely body shop mango hand cream and lip gloss (LOVE this stuff)
- some neat elephant votive holders
- a pooping reindeer
all of the cooking stuff came from my mom, which makes me wonder exactly what she's trying to tell me. the wii was a really great present not only because i've been wanting one for some time, but because it helps with family bonding. my mom refuses to bowl but she'll watch us, and my stepdad is actually being pretty amiable and not miserable to be around. yay for the christmas spirit.
actual christmas at my granny's house was kinda miserable this year. my uncle was drunk or something and was just spilling shit all over the dinner table and everyone was freaking out because they wanted to eat but he was milling around and laughing too much. my grandmother was being SO obnoxious, making comments about the food when she didn't even COOK - she just heated up some frozen greens and beans. my aunt was so pissed i could almost see it in the air. she really can't stand being around my grandmother too long anymore, so she left the day after, which was disappointing, because she and i usually do lunch or something. she said she just couldn't take it. oh well.
i came back down here and jessica and i went to the melting pot in philly. she got a GPS nav system for her car, and we took it and used it in my car, and it was pretty awesome. i'm probably going to get one once i decide which one to get. the food and service at the restaurant were above and beyond what was necessary, so we were happy and satisfied. then i came home and was in a craze for some reason and finally cleaned my room. i abandoned hanging my clothes up a few weeks ago, so they were in little stacks all around the perimeter of my bed, but i couldn't take it anymore, so i put everything away last night. it's nice.
so now i'm just waiting for the shelter to call me and tell me to pick this cat up. i really hope they do!
