never heard of 'em. looks to be using a lot of stock photo, probably just a reseller of one of the bigger webhost.

I personally like BlackSun ( http://www.blacksun.ca ) A lot of webhosts you get what you pay for.

YMMV

Any opinion on godaddy?

I guess I have to think more about my needs. I may incorporate a blog of some sort, don't need tons of space nor traffic. That said, not sure how big a traffic bufer I need. I should talk to Dave. He has a photo website.

I haven't used them, but I haven't heard good things about them either.

Blacksun is nice because they're Canadian Based and a registrar as well (good if you want a .ca) they also have pre-canned shopping carts as well.

Dave would be another good one to check with. I used to know who he had, but can't remember offhand

Pre-canned shopping carts WOULD be good! I value your opinion, and if you say they're worth the money, they must be worth the money. Maybe I should ask on fredmiranda as well, and see what photograhers use.

Whn you say you haven't heard good thingsm, you mean you HAVE heard bad things? What bad things have you heard?

looks like you can do the shopping cart on the 2nd cheapest ( http://www.blacksun.ca/business.html ) which is still $15/cad a month

as for godaddy: http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=godaddy+sucks&btnG=Google+Search&meta=

I guess I'd need a PC to use miva merchant. Or maybe not. Lots to learn!

Blacksun looks very good!

ya .. there's lots to learn. I don't know much about Miva or what else there is that compares. I also used to have a page that compared webhosts in Canada, but don't think I have it anymore since I ultimately went with Blacksun. The other one I was going to go with was in Vancouver. They looked pretty good. (and actually I was going to go with them, and Blacksun was my #2 .. When I went to buy from them their shopping cart or something was down, so I just went with #2 .. been happy for what I use it so far)

I think I need to learn deeper. I would guess paypal is the way to go in terms of purchases, and I wonder if there are any purchase templates available. I'd rather not have to buy a PC to run Miva. For some reason I think e-commerce should be easier to run.

I found a few revieews for BLacksun, and they weren't great, but then again, you hear more from complainers than positive peeps when it comes to that stuff.
