at least when i looked into it, privacy settings are separate from this newsfeed thing. i can disable ppl from seeing my wall, seeing my photos, etc, none of which i want to do, but not the newsfeed. or i can allow only friends to see my stuff, or i can block certain people from specific things, but none of that really related to anything with the news feed. i want people to be able to see all my stuff, just not be reported every time i, say, breathe.
second thing, is that that statement is false. it's the argument that facebook is using to defend the new feeds. i'm not being given information that i could have found otherwise. for example, the whole world was told what comment i made on a photo of my friend charlie, who goes to wake forest. they would have never been able to see that photo, or that comment, without news feed. they wouldn't have known that he existed, but they also wouldn't have even had access to his profile unless they were friends with him. ALSO, i think it's unlikely that people would search through my hundreds and hundreds of friends on facebook to see if i made a post on someones wall. with this, your notified of the exact comment i made, the exact person i made it for, and the exact fucking TIME i made it. same with shit like 'John Smith became friends with Susan Peabody at 11:58pm'. how would i have known that they became friends at that exact time. I also don't like that it's turning me into a stalker already. I looked at Adams profile and it said that he became friends with some girl named Vivien in the middle of the night. I was like ... who's Vivien? HOW is it my business, at all, that he became facebook friends with some girl late at night.
