Me: So, how did your meeting with my advisee go?
Director: It was inconclusive. I did not get him to turn his behavior completely around.
Me: Imagine that.
Director: He has a lot of growing up to do.
Me: Imagine that.
Director: I don't think he's going to do that in the next three days, so if you could avoid protracted power struggles...
Me: I know how to do that. The bathroom is still not clean, however. Should I leave that as is?
Director: Yes. He did, however, have a constructive solution. He suggested that we have a chart, and everytime someone takes a dump, they put a check by their names and have the person with the most checks clean the toilet.
Me: That's one for the books.
