Even at our swiftest speeds, we couldn't break from the concrete

I was just looking at postsecret and I saw this reply to one of the secrets from last week:

Subject: Universe

I know that there are people working everyday to better understand the universe we live in. I hope they never fully do. It's much more comforting as a mystery.

I don't agree. I think that understanding the universe is part of what makes it so magical. Standing under the night sky, looking up at the millions of stars knowing you still don't see it all and knowing that it contains multitudes (asteroids, comets, black holes, stars young & old, planets, solar systems, galaxies) is an indescribable feeling.

Knowing that somehow, it all fits together. And yet, no matter how convoluted your thoughts, your life, EVERYTHING is... Knowing that there is order in the chaos contributes so much to that "in the moment" feeling. Maybe you really were meant to be where you are RIGHT now. Or maybe you're just a free radical.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you don't know enough about the universe, you underestimate its enormity. And you lose the feeling of insignificance, yet togetherness that comes from a simple stargaze. You're so small. But there is NO way you're alone. So when you try to put the universe in a jar, think about that.
