Wait, edit - this weekend + Wednesday night/Thursday morning were amazing. Because as of 2/25/10, the boy and I are officially in a relationship! :D Facebook official too, haha. He met me at the door of my building with a rose and asked if he could be my boyfriend. This man's got class.
FRIDAY -
Lunar New Year Show dress rehearsal. After that was a club party fundraiser that the Pilipino American Student Society (PASS - which I am the Event Coordinator of) and the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA - which I am also involved in) were hosting. The theme was Athletes & Mathletes... so of course I went as a nerd. So did the boyfriend. SO many of my friends were there, and dressed to the nines too - it was great. And Sherwood (that's said boyfriend's name, btw... idk if I ever mentioned it :P oops!) is an awesome dancer.
SATURDAY -
LUNAR NEW YEAR SHOW 2010. It's a biannual show put on by a few of the Asian-American student orgs on campus here at Michigan State (including PASS and VSA... even though Filipinos don't celebrate the lunar new year, haha) and I was in three dances, two of which I helped choreograph. If I find videos I'll post them. BUT IT WAS SPECTACULAR. Everything went off without a hitch (mostly) and all of my best friends and family were there. Adi and Sweety were in the show with me, and Mattie and Laura came to watch. And from home (about an hour and 15 minutes' drive away) came my parents, my sister, three of my aunts, and Shelby and Sarah! I pretty much had a cheering section. It was awesome. I didn't mess up either!
Funny story - So Sherwood had a bar crawl that day for a club he's involved in. He was going to leave for the show and then go back later. I told him my parents were going to be there, and he said he'd be a lot more comfortable if he could meet them after he hadn't been drinking - so we decided he wouldn't meet them. In a rare twist of fate, his friends ended up sitting RIGHT BEHIND my family. So... no escaping it. Awkward! Haha, the rents said he was cool though, just seemed shy. If I had to meet my new significant other's parents while potentially intoxicated, I'd probably be shy too. But Sherwood said he liked what he saw of my family, and that he thought my dad was funny. I hope he'll get to see more of them in the future. =)
After the show all the fam went to Panchero's to grab a bite to eat, and I remembered how much I miss them. I laugh so much around my family. I love them all so much. And my mom brought me girl scout cookies! And misua!
Thenn back to my apartment. Shelby and Sarah were with Laura, and they went to go pick up Sherwood. They arrived, and we all hung out at my place for a while, then went to the after party. Saw everyone there, danced, had a good time, Mattie came! and my best and oldest friends (Laura, Mattie, Shelby, Sarah, in case that wasn't clear) got to hang out with my boyfriend, and they got along great. I'm so glad.
Side note - One of Sherwood's roommates, Sha (a girl, in case that wasn't clear haha) wrote this status update on facebook: My roomate almost died but THANK GOD, he didn't. JG and BAS have their new CD out. My other roomate just got the sweetest girl to be his gf. I just got second round. I'm about to start a new org. Lunar New Year Show is tomorrow! Last semester of Senior Year! AHHHHHH!!!!!! Guess who's 'the sweetest girl'? I'm so glad his friends like me too.
SUNDAY -
Spent all day doing nothing with this kid:
Photo resizing fail. Hello, computer illiteracy. But yes, that's the boyf. He's half Taiwanese, half white - which I think makes us even better together with my 50/50 Filipino/Irish-ness. No one ever thinks he's part Asian though, and no one ever thinks I'm half Irish... so we have this joke about how he's a fail of an Asian to most - but in reality, I can barely manage a pair of chopsticks. I argue, however, the fact that they don't use chopsticks in the Philippines.
ANYWAY, sorry for that little tangent, but today was probably the best day ever.
