You've got your ball, you've got your chain
Laura's alarm just went off - Crash Into Me by Dave Matthews Band.
I remembered how, in high school, I used to set my alarm to play mellow songs from my iPod. I would listen to them as I woke up, let them wake me up.
But that was when I had my own room.
Now, I set alarms on my cell phone. The theme song to Skins wakes me and I always panic, try to silence it as soon as possible so no one else wakes up because of it. Even though sometimes, I just want to let it play.
A pro of sharing a room: There's pressure to keep it clean. You're a cleaner person because of it.
A con: You can't wake up, hear a song, and leave it on because you like it. Gotta be conscientious. (Not that it bothers me all that much.)
I kind of miss the soundtrack to my morning solitude.
