so here they are! a bit out of order, but here they are:) the pictures don't do the colors justice, naturally. i am disappointed in my camera phone yet again (i REALLY need to invest in new batteries for my digital camera!). the picture of the blue fabric above the last picture is the alexander henry print. altogether, i believe there is about 4 1/ ( Read more... )

becky!! i know from reading this and other stuff before, that you were getting/trying to make/etc washable pads. i just bought a diva cup about two weeks ago, and am now just ending my first period using it. it is the BEST THING EVER and i totally thought about you and your desire to go green lately with the openness to washable pads and whatnot. i only had one day that i leaked at all, it was on my heaviest day when i didn't know how often i would have to empty it, and it barely spotted on the liner i had on. after reading reviews and stuff online i was afraid it would take a few months to get used to, but this was practically instant.

anyway, i got mine from iherb.com http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.aspx?c=1&pid=-2228795031505824959 where they are only $18.99 (normally $30-$40 on other sites) AND i got $5 off using a promo code (SIC262 if you're interested in this) so after $1.50 shipping it was only $15.49. i'm planning on telling every woman of menstrual age i know because i am so excited at how well this works.

plus i'm going to make my own washable liners to go with it. just because i'm still nervous to go without and i don't want to buy disposables anymore.

so how have you been? hopefully you'll get this, ha.

Hey:) Yeah, I have both a DivaCup and a Mooncup UK. I prefer the MUK, but the DC holds more (and we both need more, seeing as how we have those pesky Paragard periods, huh?)

Anyway, the cloth pads are fantastic. I have a whole thing of them under my sink next to the toilet. I just wash them with Nona's diapers, or sometimes just in the dark clothes. I have only ever leaked around the pads, but using PUL will stop most leaks. I have only leaked a few times, on seriously heavy days, with pads that bunched up or something.

I love love love my cups and pads, I'd never go back to disposables.

Actually my period is lighter now oddly enough.
But the divacup is awesome. I wanted to get one before (or any of them really) but I didn't feel like I was finding the best deal (you know me... always looking for the discounts). It was just really setting in on me how awesome it was, because here it was the end of my period, and it barely felt like it at all. It fits me perfectly and I didn't even need to trim the stem. So I was all super excited. Plus I was super tired but couldn't sleep and just wanted to tell the world, ha. I'm seriously about to post about it on every single journal/blog thing I have because no woman should deal with stupid disposables ever again. I spent most of the night/early morning looking up washable pads and patterns, I have a pretty good idea of how I'm going to make liners.

And I'm SSOOOO upset that I wasn't able to use cloth with Mayah. I wanted to but we didn't have a washer/dryer of our own to begin with, and the service was too expensive. I should have switched as soon as we had a set, but it didn't even occur to me at that time, plus the first time we had a set other people used it too. And I'm not planning on having another, so I don't get that second chance.
