motivation!!

so i've been waffling around for a while trying to find my drive to become vegan again. i want to be healthy and strong, i don't want to be obese forever. wait, scratch that, i don't want to be obese for ANOTHER MINUTE!

so i decided to join a couple different vegan communities on here just to get myself back in the game. i posted yesterday and got a lot of encouraging and helpful replies. it motivated me to go to the library last night and get a library card. most of the suggested books were already on hold for like 36 other people, but i went ahead and put my name in anyway. hopefully i can gain some good knowledge from them.

but i WAS able to get my paws on a book called Vegan With A Vengeance, which is an amazing cookbook. i've got tons of cookbooks, but this one is so awesome because it's got simple everyday ingredients and i found myself wanting to try EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. this NEVER happens to me, so i got pretty excited. i mean, i couldn't WAIT to get into the kitchen! so now i'm feeling really fired up, and that's awesome because now i know that my in laws will definitely get behind me with such easy and accessible ingredients. there's no processed fake meat products or anything, just fresh ingredients that i can create seemingly countless dishes with. i'm super stoked!

other than that, today is valentine's day. which is good because that means i get to have a date with my bubba. he's taking me to a vegan restaurant in berkeley for dinner. isn't that sweet?:) so i've been trying to pump enough milk to last poor little soon-to-be-deserted nona so that the MIL doesn't have to give her formula. i hate it when she eats formula. makes me feel bad. but she hardly ever gives me opportunities to pump, so sometimes it's a neccessary evil.

so she has been an INCREDIBLE sleeper the past few nights. it's exciting to me. we woke up this morning and i dressed her in her special valentine's day outfit (which consists of a red long-sleeved onesie with poof sleeves that says "me+mommy=love" on it. toooooooo cute! but she can wear it for any day since it doesn't say anything about valentine's day:)

and then she was cranky, so i had to put her in the carrier because i had stuff to do. i mixed up the cookie dough for josh's special v-day present of peanut butter hershey kiss cookies. luckily she went to sleep in the carrier so i could put her down before the cookies were ready to come out of the oven.

now i'm ready to take a shower i think. that'd be nice, a shower:)

life is good today. i'm a very happy camper. i can't wait to cook some of these deliciously well-rounded meals. heck, i'm even excited to try quinoa. who knew??

happy valentine's day everyone!
