~Thirty-Sixth Spectacle~

Apr 18, 2008 22:43

Ah~ so good of you to all be so concerned, my muscles have recovered by now~ ♥

Though my memory is still fuzzy, I've spent my recovery time working on a revision to my guide... which I hope will suffice for all our charming new New Feathers ♥

Oh, and dear Sheena, are you free for a meeting~? ♥

► The first tidbit you'll want to know is that this unique little world is called Luceti~ At least it was called that by the natives previously and is now referred to as such by our captors. A bit lazy, really ♥. At any rate - that's the accepted name by the majority of the populace~ It is, additionally, a Closed Circle. But then if you don't know what that is it's not really a concern, is it~?

► Next, you'll want why you're here, no? ♥ You're here to be a replacement test subject in experiments conducted by a group that likes to call themselves the Malnosso. No, why they would pick such a cliché (let alone Portuguese!) name is beyond me, but then I'm not one to knock other's tastes~

► I should add that the Malnosso appear to bring in new individuals on a monthly basis~ As such, at the dawn of each month (going by Miss Parker's "GST") a bunch of "new feathers" (as dear Reki has named them~) will arrive. This does not mean people will drop on a regular basis -- many people disappear from this world at highly irregular intervals~ ♥

► Next is how, right? ♥ The Malnosso (or an ally of them, perhaps) has activated an ability to kidnap people from across worlds and timelines. This means that you'll meet people who are from worlds that follow different rules than your own~ as well as people who may have gone missing or even died in your own world~ ♥ The most extreme case of this lies in a group who claims to be from the combination of two worlds - Sylverant and Tethe'alla - some thousand years after the combination ♥

► This thing that you're reading it on is a communication device, commonly called a "book" or "journal~" Regrettably un-creative names, really, but I suppose most accepted terms aren't that notable. It can show either handwritten things or pictures, but it can also use an audio function~ In either case, a small picture of the one committing to the post is shown. It's a convenient way to meet people, but for those who value privacy~ I suggest investing in a mask or some way of covering the proverbial camera~ Oh! And you can encrypt things on this charming little object, but take the warning that several individuals are quite skilled with "hacking" these encryptions~

► The Malnosso will claim that the selection is random, and while that's possible, it doesn't make sense to me that so many people here would know each-other if this were were case, even if they are from the same world. Given this data, it's possible that if I look at it that way, the selection is both random and planned. The selection of worlds could be random, but once the world is selected, the majority of the selected people from that world will be heavily connected, somehow. There's little more to add to this other than that new information has made more almost completely certain that my theory is correct~ No one his chosen randomly, only, perhaps, the worlds to pick from are.

► These Malnosso are not gods. While I believed it possible initially, they are no the definition of deity that several of my colleagues agree upon. They cannot create something new - merely modify existing matter. This means that even if they can cheat a bit, they still need to obey some basic physical laws, though as to which ones - I'm not sure. ♥ The proof for this is in the world itself, Luceti. There is definitive proof that the Malnosso did not create it. If they wanted a lab, and had the power, they would create an entirely new world. This means, no matter how much power they evidently have or how much they modified this world, it is not (originally) a world that is their personal playground.

► Next you'll want to fight the Malnosso, right? If they aren't gods they should be vulnerable somehow, right? ♥ In~cor~rect. Using the definition of deity that my colleagues and myself agree upon, deities can be more, and non-deities could be immortal. Furthermore, the Malnosso are strong - they can manipulate spacial data enough to recreate a tattered world, they can make flowers sprout everywhere at once, they can make a giant storm, and most importantly --- well, I'm getting ahead of myself ♥ The basic idea is that the Malnosso are powerful, for one, and secondly we do not know for sure if they even have physical bodies, let alone if death works the same for them as for us ♥ - We do, however, know their location. A large lab which is pretty much impossible to siege beyond the mountains~ Escape from this seems to be impossible, but I believe one or two individuals appear to have done it~ I wonder, really, if they weren't perhaps let out. What's more, rescue of captured individuals is largely impossible, and because you might hurt yourself in the process... Well, I wouldn't recommend it ♥

► There is currently no known escape~ This is a Closed Circle after all, so what fun would it be if the players could escape? Those who can normally teleport and gate, or otherwise travel between worlds cannot do so here~ ♥ But this makes me speculate about something else, really - what if we are in fact not ourselves, but replicas of ourselves? It would be a fascinating property, wouldn't it?! It would also explain how those with powerful friends back home haven't be rescued, or how the Time Spheres haven't been too disturbed~ Oh, and I might add that certain others have been exploring, and there isa barrier surrounding the outer part of the village some week or three's walk around it, going up far into the sky. Amazing, isn't it~?

► Next! ♥ You're weaker than before~ Those of you who had superhuman abilities (or supernatural, should you fail to be human~) have had your powers cut rather severely. This means that your magic will be much weaker, the skills will not work as well, and more or less anything you do will be much harder than before~ I should also take this moment to note that the species recruited for Luceti vary a lot - though the majority of them are humanoids - humans, elves, demons, devils. ♥ Maybe a vampire or two ten~ Though they are not, by any means, limited to humanoids.

► Some of you more rationally minded might be wondering how we can understand each-other, what with being from several worlds. Well, initially, I thought that it was the fact that the vast majority of the the denizen of Earth I've met are Japanese, but then I concluded something else~ Unless you actively speak another language with the attempt to block out certain people, your words will be automatically translated to the person you're speaking to. ♥ This means even you only speak one tongue (unlike myself) you will be able to talk with everyone~

► This point is important - Death is not permanent here. I mean that someone who dies within this Closed Circle will be revived, however, it is with a death penalty. To give an example of this... a man by the name of Haseo and his friend both drown, but now are alive once more. However, Haseo confirms that he now can no longer feel the presence of something called "Skeith" inside of him (which he could prior to dying) and his friend is now blind. Now, why weren't the original Felial revived? This is simple, really ♥. Because the Filial aren't their test subjects in the same sense. I'd assume the gene or whatever allows them to revive us was grafted in during the surgical process that gave us the wings. This is more or less confirmed in that if you were to kill rodents or deer in the forest they don't come back. Death naturally exists in this world, but the Malnosso can override that, at least for us~ I call this affect the Death Penalty

► The past, you say? We don't know a lot other than a bit about the Felial, but that's neither hear nor there~ ♥ The only notable 'world events' you'll need to know are a large flood which caused a lot of chaos, and an invasion of flowers, including man-eating planets A winter festival that our own Ceasar crafted up (which was quite entertaining ♥ ), and a period of time in which many people became children, and a reign of terror by a murderous trophy hunter, a lovely little valentine's mix up, a mincing of chromosomes, a lovely wedding, a deplorable plague, and the opening of a human-bases zoo~ Convenient, no? ♥

► The first notable event in history is, as I noted the Flood Incident. Regrettable, really, because I was not able to personally witness it~ though as I understand it, the rain increased until the river flooded over, causing a large amount of property damage and one or two deaths. This is a testament to the fact that the Malnosso can control the local weather~ Next was the Flower Incident, in which more or less every solid object (from the ground to walls to beds) was covered in various types of flowers~ In this incident a number of world-exclusive flowers also appeared, as well as a fer man-eating ones~ This is good testament to the fact that the Malnosso can control the land. Next is dear Ceasar's Winter Festival, a most relaxing little holiday for all the captives here~ And finally, the most recent incident, the Children Incident, in which a number of people here were reduced in age to much younger selves~ some of which retained their memories, and some of which had them, regrettably, reset~ A few people also failed to change, which is most interesting ♥ Following this was the Valentine's Incident, where believe it or not people fell in love with the first person they spoke to over these journals! Shocking, isn't it~? Next came the Gender Swap Incident, in which males became females and vice-versa~ though a few people did fail to change, some people Like dear Gailardia got to have an enlightening experience. Then there was the Collidge Wedding~ oh, it was wonderful! Senel and Stella Coolidge became the first couple to be wed in Luceti (Though one wonders if Cloud and Tifa might not follow behind them~ or Yuan and Martel. ♥)... almost makes you wonder when they'll have a child, no? ♥ Following the charming wedding, almost as if there was payback came the Plague Incident, in which a huge portion of Luceti's population became ill and/or died from a virus the Malnosso created. It was disheartening, almost disasterous, really... ahwell! I was out for a while after that, I think... but after that came a charming little event which happened so recently you could think back to it like your milk arriving earlier in the day~ the Animal Incident, in which a large chunk of the population became animals! I pity it never hit me, that might've been fun~

► Also, please note that some experiments, such as the Hunter Incident, are quite deadly. ♥ In the case of that incident, The Malnosso rigged up a trophy hunter designed to rip off the wings of people here, and he proved near invincible! Terrifying, in a way, because no one, regardless of power, stood even a chance~ ♥ And the Plague Incident was even worse! Even our beloved headman Ceasar thought we were goners then!

► Now, to the wings you're all surely wondering about! ♥ You are no longer whatever species you were before - you are now a Felial, and the wings are the proof of it. Unless you are extremely lightweight they are too small to support flight, but then can allow for hovering~ I'd suppose with training they might be useful, but for now~ Well, one more thing - the nerve endings in them are extreme, so pulling them off would result in catatonic shock and probable death ♥ That and it kills normal Felial, apparently~ Though this is through a claim of "magic."

► The original Felial? All dead save for a survivor or two~ The ones that do live are fairly helpful, though ♥ However - if you want to bore yourself with history, it's simplistic and quite uninspired, honestly ♥ The Felial have always lived in this world peacefully and with no notable enemies, worshiping some idol-based deity until they were routed by the Malnosso without noticing, pretty much~ Strange thing, that, no?

► You can talk to animals - this is an ability of all Felial. Though I recommend not talking to rabbits, as they are rather stupid~ What's more, the majority of the animals here do not have their innate fear of sentient beings due to associating with the Felial. I suppose this might be useful if food was scarce, which on the whole it isn't~ Also, the Felial appeared to have some magic in olden days. Whether or not they still do (and therefore we can access it) is speculative though~ I might add that the text books on this subject are quite vague~ However, our own Stella has proved it is very possible to learn this magic, and if you would like insight in as to how, I suggest you talk to her~ Or, I suppose, pretty much anyone else! Haha~ It's become commonplace to master it these days, I guess. A pity I still haven't ♥

► Naturally, there are also some people you should know. I myself and Itsuki Koizumi~ maybe you'll see me around sometime ♥ However, much more important than me is our own village hero/savior, Sheena! If you're ever in trouble, this charming woman will be right there to save you without delay! Also important is our mayor, Ceasar Silverberg~ he and his brother Albert are something of the unspoken leaders of our little rag-tag band... he and his General, Sephiroth and his dear ally Nina Parker. Aside from this, you might want to know the dear couple that run the clinic~ Kamui (the meek one!) and Lute~ ♥ Aside from this you might want to know the Exorcists, who I believe recently put a man named Chichiri as a temporary member of their already strong minority group~ which consists of Daiysa Barry, Miranda Lotto, Lenalee Lee (plus he dear brother, Komui Lee), Yuu The Great and Terrible Kanda, Allen Walker, and of course dear Lavi~ oh, and their minion, Chomosuke!

► As with any village, there are a few bad eggs, too~ Farfarello and Schuldig of the terrorist organization Schwarz at the top of the list. Do be careful~ Oh, and look out for the heartless Aros -- he might just devour you! He's quite terrifying. Aside from this, the Noahs (the enemies of the Exorcists, no less!) Lulubell and Tyki Mikk are both quite deadly. Evangeline is also quite the terror... oh! And who knows where the loyalties of people like Duo Maxwell lie... Oh, and I wouldn't cross Mello or Gojyo when they're in a bad mood~ ♥

► Housing is provided - there are plenty of singular houses, each sporting between one and four people, and there are community houses. While you can move wherever you wish, a good deal of people enjoy the pleasure of the roommates they appeared into Luceti with. I admit I'm guilty of the same thing - but then Kai-kun and Kenni and dear Karen are is areis just too nice~ ♥ You can also live in the forest, hills, or otherwise make your own home if you feel so inclined~

► All your items were lost on your arrival, but a decent number of them you'll be able to regain either by looking around your house or by looking through the shops (which, incidentally, don't charge anything. As useful as this is, it defeats the purpose of window shopping, oh woe~). These shame shops hold food and blankets and other such items, so do remember to look into them sometime~ However, some items seem restricted, not the least of which is firearms or giant robots. So too bad for all your gun-users~ Additionally, I feel I should add that items which are unique to worlds, or items which should not exist anymore have been known to pop up from time to time as well ♥ Oh, and for all you industrious types~ the Malnosso don't seem to like firearms, so even if you build them they seem to fall apart or vanish almost immediately thereafter. Naah~ such a shame. ♥

► Oh, and you might be wondering where there is to go in town, right~? It's so good of you to ask! Aside from the obvious, (the shops and whatnot) there's a bakery run by our own Daiysa (who knew he was so domestic~?) and a school which is working on being renovated by dear Raine Sage. ♥ There's a bar in town, as well as the clinic run by our own Kamui (the meek one!) and a smaller one run by our own Reki~ I hear Duo's got plans for a pizza service too!

► And finally - how How exactly are they studying us? Behavioral study, mostly. They produce actions, and dumb in people who will interact and see what happens. However, they also have an odd fetish for random kidnappings in order to do personal study, usually physical or psychological. It's fascinating, really, and I might like to try it myself sometime... Oh well~ I must say that my own mis-adventure in this field was most enlightening~

► On the subject of world events~ The Malnosso's world-wide experiments appear to happen at fairly regular intervals and appear to last an upwards of a week, sometimes slightly more or less, but they do appear to enjoy being prompt~ This events will be announced by them via this network, but they won't mention the end of it bar for maybe a tip of the hat, if you will ♥~ These events can affect anything -- from the land around us, to the weather, to even ourselves. A respective example of each are the Flood Incident, the Flower Incident, and the Children Incident, and the Hunter Incident all of which are mentioned above~

► On the subject of personal experimentation, I suppose you're all quite curious~ ♥ Well, it appears that the Malnosso kidnap those that they want to use for that purpose, and while resistance had been attempted by many, myself included, it had ultimately proved impossible to resist capture~ It also appears to be impossible to get a good look at your assailant, as my memories of the entire encounter are fuzzed up a wee bit~ I can only recall what might appear to be a moving shadow... Regrettable, really~ At any rate, once you're captured you're presumably brought to the lab they have hidden away, and as for what happens -- that's variable to the individual~ ♥

► Why yes, I am single~

By Request of Farfarello (Who appears to have left us) ♥~
► The majority of the population is of variable intelligence, ranging much like a normal word in a lot of respects, however, there appear to be an abnormally large number of geniuses (thought they too are of questionable sense~). There also appears to be an abnormally large amount of community concern, "do-gooders," pessimists, and generally quirky people~ There's also one or two clinically insane folk about as well!

► Do look out for a boy by the name of Nagi~ He can be quite tiresome at times due to his childish antics provoked by his boredom~ And what with his powers, which appear to be telekinetic in nature, he can be quite the handful! ♥ Removed by request of a most terrifying telekinetic~

By Request of Kotarou Inugami ♥~
► The vast majority of the population here appears to be oddly suited for combat. While few people here are, by profession, soldiers, a good number of people come from rough worlds or are somehow able to hold their own in combat. This means it would probably be unwise to underestimate people here ♥ One of the most notable people not to underestimate is Eva-chan~ a vampire who wants to make sure you all know she can kill even without her magic ♥

By Rquest of one Zero Kiryu ♥~
► Recently there have been far too many vampires~ Kamui and Kaname and Subaru and others~ Seeing as how according to Mr. Kiryu the only worthwhile one -- excluding himself -- is Evangeline~ Eva-chan, you wouldn't mind become queen of the bloodsuckers, right? ♥
