So I'm pretty new to the Doctor Who fandom, so some of these recs might be old hat to everyone. Regardless, onward and upward...

Story: I Feel a Thunderbolt by takethewords [R]
Summary: He keeps watch as she combs her fingers through her hair and he can calculate the exact distance between her body and his, even now, even with the burn of the rum in his throat and the curtain of people in the crowded pub.

Reason for recommendation: If I were to describe this fic in one word "smouldering" would be it. Simple set up: Nine in a bar, watching Rose, but the author turns it into this gorgeous, sexy peek into Nine's head.
Story: my people were fair and had sky in their hair by boxed [R]
Summary: Sometimes, if you look closely, you can see the horizon in her eyes before the sides crinkle and her lashes brush it away, but in that one slow second she has your entire world wrapped in hazel irises.

Reason for recommendation: It's hard to pull off second person well, but this does it. A short, lyrical, dreamy look at Ten and how the evolution of his relationship with Rose changes him.

Story: The Sums of Things by shinyopals [PG-13]
Summary: After the end of the universe that wasn't, the Doctor and Rose are together again. But they're still as jeopardy friendly as ever, and Rose's job at Torchwood very quickly throws them into another dangerous situation. (Post-JE, sort of ish canon compliant. If you squint.)

Reason for recommendation: Basically, the author takes the idea that Ten II is the fourteenth regeneration of the Doctor, and runs from there, with the Doctor and Rose working out their tentative romance while dealing with all the fun that comes with Torchwood. The author has a knack for mixing in bits of humor in with the adventure, and the alternate Torchwood is fleshed out with seamless OCs. Plus, the Doctor is growing a T.A.R.D.I.S in Rose's living room. It's hard not to love that. I basically love everything that shinyopals writes in this 'verse.
Story: Silver Dollar Paradigm by ladychi [R]
Summary: The Doctor and Rose tackle a vengeful ghost, temporal shifts, and an adventure that will test their relationship. AU after Doomsday.

Reason for recommendation: A deliciously creepy, horror adventure with ghosts, temporal shifts and the Doctor and Rose taking turns being jeopardy friendly and badassed. Also contain an amusingly jealous & protective Doctor.

Story: 5 Clichés That Didn't Work, and 1 That Did by sinecure [NC-17] (last part)
Summary: Rose and the Doctor trample through the clichés.

Reason for recommendation: sinecure is another one of those authors where I pretty much love everything they write. This fic take all of the ridiculous fandom (any fandom, really) sex cliches and gently mocks them while making them both funny and hot with a slow build to Ten and Rose finally getting it on. And yes, the build up is worth it.
Story: How to Turn on a Time Lord by carlisle-coop [NC-17]
Summary: Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Characters/Pairing: Ten/Rose, Jackie
Category: humour, romance smut, multi-part, established relationship
Warning: NC-17
Reason for recommendation: Funny and hot. Did I mention hot? Rose finally figures out how Time Lord physiology works and uses it it torture Ten mercilessly while they're trapped in increasingly inappropriate and amusing places. The authors had some neat ideas for how Time Lord arousal would work and it translates into really hot and sweet sex. Plus, I'm always amused with any fic where Ten and Rose have to try (usually miserably) to hide their relationship from Jackie.
Story: Fury by unfolded73 [NC-17]
Summary: He’s clutching you, kissing you with what can only be described as desperation.
Characters/Pairing: Ten/Rose, Donna
Category: angst, character study, smut, one-shot, established relationship
Warning: NC-17
Reason for recommendation: Oh boy, another second-person fic that doesn't suck! This is an angsty Ten character study that covers familiar ground (the thought of losing Rose: bad), but from an interesting perspective. And the author's angry!Ten is simultaneously quite sexy and sympathetic.
I also would like to throw in another vote for both doona_rose's Kinetic Sense (possibly the hottest thing I've ever read) and earlgreytea68
's Chaos Theory in Vortex Orbits in Relative Dimensions in Time and Space (Babyfic for those who hate babyfic!)
