For Maxxie.

From hereIt had taken a little convincing, talking his sister into letting him walk back without him, but when he'd told her he wouldn't be alone, when he maybe hinted that he might not be coming back to their room right away, realization dawned in her eyes and suddenly she'd become really, really intent on gleefully shoving him out the door with a ( Read more... )

Maxxie tries really hard not to laugh. Lucky he's a decent actor and he genuinely doesn't want to make Marshall feel bad. The awkwardness is endearing and, what's more, Maxxie understands it. He's been there, nervous and desperate for a guy to like him, hoping he doesn't screw up and show exactly how little he knows about certain things. It's been years since his first time, but some things stick fresh in the memory.

"Not quite," Maxxie says, slipping his hand loosely into Marshall's. "Still gotta get downstairs. And I was hoping you wouldn't want to get rid of me just yet."

"Well, considering our rooms are two doors down from each other, unless you've got a stop to make first, there's no way we could split up without it being kind of awkward," Marshall pointed out with a faint twist of a smile on his lips, his fingers sliding comfortably between Maxxie's.

He'd had Maxxie's hands pretty much all over him, already, but he was still struck by how nice they felt, every time.

The stairs are short and he pushes open the door for the both of them, pausing shortly for Marshall to pass. "I kind of meant that I hope you won't get rid of me at your door," Maxxie says, his smile faint. "Or curtain, as the case may be."

He's trying to be subtle, or gauge Marshall's interest, while they're still in a public area. He's anxious himself, wanting to get downstairs and make his intent more physically known, but he doesn't think Marshall would completely appreciate Maxxie's hands all over him just outside the kitchen.

"I know what you meant," Marshall admitted, his smile just a little more knowing. He'd known from the moment Maxxie had asked him if he wanted to hang out later. It probably wasn't as subtle as it should've been.

"I don't actually want to get rid of you any time soon, so..."
