Author's Notes: Written for the Marauders challenge at hp100. Ugh, this was one of those stories where it sounds like a good idea in your head, but comes out terribly when written. I'm not fond of this one, but here it is regardless.
Remus has always been sensitive towards nature. But not like this, not like how it's been since October wilted into November. He stares at holes in his shoes when passing a shoppe with lilies blooming in mourning. A neighbour complains of needing to poison a rat, and he offers to do it, releasing him into the safety of the grass. Even Muggles parading crude deer-shaped decorations too many months early tighten and twist his stomach until he doubles over.
When a stray mutt barks outside his window, he's all the company he'd have. Instead, he pulls the dark curtains shut.
