uvic baby!
WOW It's been awhile. The summer was quite good. Worked hard and partied hard. But, now I'm here, in Victoria, attending UVIC. and i just love it. however, i totally miss PG cas of course I knew my way around, knew all my profs and could catch up with ppl in the halls and party with great friends on the weekend. Here not so much. I live with two girls, Annette (20 turning 21) and Catherine (21 turning 22) and our landlady, Rene, is downstairs. I live about 10 minutes from the bus stop and the busride takes anywhere from 15-30 minutes. The bus routes have been crazy b/c BC transit was not prepared for the surge in use since gasoline prices have risen so much. We've literally been packed like sardines...lucky me I get all the tall ppl's arm pits inmy face. SO needless to say I haven't really made a large effort to meet people b/c I dont believe I will have the time to have a magnificent social life. My classes this semester ar totally bearable. I have GEOG214 (Envir. Change and Human Response) which is apparently a breeze (whoopee!) and GEOG222 (Map and AIr Photo Interpretation) which I was totally dreading...but the prof is wonderful hes funny and tries not to be boring. annd again I heard it was super easy. Then there's BIOL190A (I've done the equivalent to 190B already), but I'm inluck b/c at UVIC the lab is worth less than the class (seeing as labs only ever bring my mark down I see that as being a good thing). And, the course outline says that I will be doing a bit of review from stuff we covered at UNBC (same text too). So that is good news and then I have Geog324 which seems to be quite similar to the 3rd year geog class I did at UNBC so I'm sure I can handle it. hmmm whatelse. Oh back to my roomies. Catherine is from Burnaby and shes studying Chemistry, its her first year away from home and therefore we are both new to VIctoria. Annette is actually how I found out about this place (a friend of a friend of a friend kinda thing). She's from PG and is really close to her family and bf of 3 yrs. I feel bad for her b/c she hates it here, but I think she kind of does it to herself cas she could have fun but I dont think she wants to try. Either way, we all seem to get along well and respect each other (however, it has only been a week...hehe). I havent seen Evan yet, but we've talked a bit. Hes currently in the middle of finals so I kinda have to wait til hes done, but I'm hoping he wants to get together once he finishes. He emailed me to tell me that his phone wasnt working, in case I was trying to get ahold of him...which i think is cute. Well I suppose I should stop screwing around and finish reading my bio lab for tomorrow night. *sigh*. soo i miss all my Chet and PG buddies...:( holla out to all of ya! But I wouldnt trade it here for the world...DID I mention the cute little bunnies all over campus (I saw a cute little baby one today!!! I just love it)
