Epic update

Life in the booborium (also known as the breast cancer charity I work for )appears to have come to a halt. Despite being a scarily female workplace, everyone's in the pub watching the game, so I thought I'd use the time for an epic update :)

So, firstly - wedding! Being addressed as Mrs Green still confuses the life out of me. The wedding was actually wonderful. After a week of stressing like nothing else on earth (possibly topped by my epic scream when Sam didn't come to the wedding rehearsal! - I'm told it could be heard through 2 closed doors...), the day itself was amazing. All relaxed and intimate and lovely. Probably helps that Gary was doing the wedding, as he's completely incapable of making anything extra formal, but it was wonderful. Lovely to have some very treasured friends with us, including some from miles away. Was also wonderful weather!

Honeymoon was also great, though not without comedy :) It started with us walking from the reception to the hotel for the first night - Sam just about got away with his suit, but my dress made me a little conspicuous in Kings Cross! The hotel, bless them, gave us a free breakfast and champagne after they realised, which was very sweet. Then I threw a bit of a special asthma attack, and true to form hadn't packed an inhalor - which ended up with a rather durnk parental wending their way to the hotel - thank God nothing happened! That was special, but thankfully over soon - I had horrid visions of having to go to A and E on my wedding night.

Then we went to Lee abbey in Devon. We stayed in a little cottage in a forest overlooking the sea. Getting there at 10 was a bit special, since it was very dark, but when we finally found our way through the forest and saw the view - wow. lots of lovely walks, kite flying, icecream eating and games of monopoly - because we're sad like that. So relaxing after the wedding!

So now it's back to work at the booborium, and for me, settling in a bit to Sussex after London. Mostly, it's fabulous. It's very nice being somewhere a bit less crowded and so near the countryside, and of course, married life is fab. I miss my church though, and feel like it's going to take a bit of time to find friends and settle into church down there. Am going to bible study tonight though, so that's a good step. Have also changed units, which is strange...new Guides are lovely, just rather more well behaved than I'm used to :)
