Your Laurie is so complex, so fucked up, not even a very nice person, and god do I love her. God Eddie you sick fuck. I actually feel sorry for him that this is as close as he can come to being a good person.
Is this heading for OT3 territory? Can there be a not-bleak ending for our heroine? I cannot wait to find out.

[smiles] That is so cool. Re: fucked up/not nice -- I'm writing what I hope is a fanfic that helps people see Laurie's potential as a character and yet not whitewashing what many of her critics dislike about her -- in fact, I may be making her flaws worse.
Thank you on Eddie, too.

Well, this fanfic is meant to be viewed as a potential prequel to the GN, so you can fill in the blanks there. The last part probably won't be so sexy, but it'll be more gentle.
Oh, man. I don't know where to begin. I love how you don't shy away from how brutal Laurie can be. The reversal of power, in how Laurie's the one providing a light for Blake this time around? SO AWESOME. And I honestly don't know which scene I found hotter, Dan and Rorschach's moment together, or the sexy hate between Laurie and Blake. Plus this:
“Yeah, I …” Blake’s voice was quiet. “I found that out the hard way once.”
“I didn’t rape him.” Laurie’s voice sounded desperate to her, and she realized she was trying to convince herself as much as Blake. “I … I gave him plenty of chances to escape. He … You’ve seen him in battle. He could have stopped me at any time.”
“Interesting.” Blake gripped her wrists in one of his hands, ran one of his fingers of his other hand along her chin. “How do you know I didn’t give your mother plenty of chances to escape? How do you know your mother didn’t want it?”Oh yes, that bit was marvellously creepy. Hannibal Lectures are my (nonsexual!) oddly specific kink

LOL! I've never heard that term before. That is AWESOME.
I'm glad it made your day better. Thank YOU.
Because you KNOW stuff like that would happen.)
I actually based that on something Valerie D'Orazio (back when I read her) said. She said most of the searches for her blog were usually along the lines of people wanting to see porn of superheroines getting beat up/tied up/humiliated. I just took it from there.
I was going to skip this chapter because I'm not a fan of incest, but I'm glad I didn't {though I did skip over the part where they had sex}. I was REALLY pleased to see the Dan/Rorschach stuff :)
I like how you write Laurie. Someone said she's not that nice and fucked up and I agree. It makes her more human than how she's represented in the comics and in the movie.
I love how you used the new report as commentary...really nice.
I almost wanted Dan to suggest the "no drinking on the owlship" rule. :P
And seeing Laurie kick ass just rocked.
I also must say that I love that Dan passed out in battle because my Sim!Dan always does that when Dr. M. talks to him. I guess he gets bored.
I also seriously loved the conversation between Dan and Rorschach. It was so in character and so real. Dan's reference to Rorschach's "revelation"...exaclty how it might have happened.
Note: I wrote above before they kissed...made it even better.
You write the Comedian so well. “Kid, I don’t need to fuck with your head. By the time you’re screwing someone like Rorschach, you’re already pretty fucked.” Perfect.
I just loved him during the whole sex scene with Laurie...what he does know, what he doesn't, how fucked up he is...how fucked up they both are.
I will apologize if my comments are sometimes incoherent. I read fic on my laptop every night before I go to bed and sometimes I take Ambien to get to sleep. If a fic is good I stay up after it starts working...

Oh, OUCH. I love this so much.
(...also seconding the OT3 curiosity.)

(Ah, maybe next fic, if you keep up that pester-plan we talked about the other day. :-))

Hee. Writing the group really is like herding squirrels. I kind of felt bad for Dan in this story.

LOL. I want to see that in fic, now.
Thanks for all your comments. I really appreciate them and love how detailed they are. I'm glad you're enjoying the story.
