Finding Silverware

Apr 06, 2007 20:42

This is me avoiding work, mostly because I have to work tomorrow and mostly because I don't feel that great and I want to go home. I think all those late nights this week are catching up with me.

Kate is home for Easter. She is in the middle of pre-finals stress, but I think she is handling it really well. She's got a job lined up for this summer (in her actual major) measuring trees. It doesn't sound all that exciting, but you've got to start somewhere. Plus I saw the guy she will be partnered up with this summer and I think she will have a good time. He worked for the FBI for a while and still has classified clearance. Pretty cool.

I finally invested in some silverware. I'm sure that sounds pretty lame to you, but it was a big decision for me. I needed to buy enough silverware so that when I have company, I can entertain, but I wanted good quality stuff that wouldn't break when cutting a steak or scooping really frozen ice cream. Plus I wanted to make sure I got a cool pattern. This week, I was in Walmart just to look around and kill time between meetings and I saw that some of the silverware I looked at the last time I was in was on sale. So I bought it. Not very exciting, but a grown-up type moment for me. Now all I have to do is get some dishes.

Well, I'd better go. The weather is getting nasty and I have a long drive. Later.
