This is an operetta so no grand drama or deep story but easy going fun and romance.
I liked
* having the more composed-through choir numbers.
* a larger set of characters and secondary characters that actually gets some (at least for a music theatre piece) character depth and that several of them are musumeyaku.
* that we have several couples with happy endings.
* Ayahoshi Rion's singing
* Natori Rei. Zsupán fit her well.
* Mihou Aya as Czipra. Too bad she retired but she got a good last role.
* Kiriyan and Marimo together, they feel like equals playing off each other.
* the opening pair dance. It was impressive and I like how it was filmed.
* Morie in uniform (works for me every time.)
* Toshi being reasonably visible.I was less thrilled by having Marimo pushed into the too high register vocally. Not her strong point.
And this was way too cute to be left out:
