Kame wasn’t a very good morning person; he never has been and probably never will be. A few days prior, he had wrapped up filming for 1 Pound no Fukuin and was lucky enough to get Saturday off. What was even luckier was that the entire group was given Saturday off as well.
He had planned to sleep in very late that day, but it seemed a certain baka bandmate of his had other plans and woke him up promptly at six a.m.
“Jin, why in the hell did you wake me up at six in the morning on our day off?”
“Because I’ve been up since three and I couldn’t find anything else to do that was silent and wouldn’t wake you up. Plus, I was getting lonely.”
Kame replied by smacking Jin and moving past him into the kitchen to make himself a cup of tea. He was expecting to be greeted with the sight of cake batter splattered all over the walls like on his birthday a couple of years ago (Jin, of course, was in America last year on Kame’s birthday).
But instead, he was greeted with the sight of a very clean kitchen, and that surprised him.
“Kame, wait! I already made you tea. It’s on the table already and everything.”
Kame turned around to face a smiling Jin. He raised an eyebrow but knew that Jin could make tea properly now without accidently setting anything on fire, or making it extremely salty. (no one ever asked how Jin managed to make tea salty. They just didn’t.)
“Uhh… Thanks.” Kame left the kitchen and turned to go into the living room where they had the table, sitting near the counter that allowed them to look out into the living room. He was greeted with the sight of a table with two plates of food and two cups sitting neatly on them.
“Jin...” Kame was about to turn to the other when he felt a pair of arms wrap around his waist from behind.
“Happy Birthday, Kazu-chan~ I made you breakfast!” Jin said, his head resting on Kame’s right shoulder. Kame smiled and instantly felt more awake.
“You didn’t have to Jin… But thank you. Really, thank you.”
Jin just grinned and let go of Kame and then walked towards the table where he pulled out Kame’s usual chair for him. Kame blushed slightly as he made his way over to the table and sat down.
“Mou~ Jin, don’t treat me like I’m a girl. You know I hate that.”
“But I’m not treating you like a girl. I just wanted to pull the chair out for you since it’s your birthday and all.”
Kame didn’t point out that when the group had gone out for dinner last night that Jin had also pulled out his chair for him then.
“Ok, so I made your favorite kind of tea and I made you pancakes… Oh, and eggs, bacon and toast! And you are going to eat all of it too!” Jin said as he happily explained what he had made, adding a bit of a threatening tone to the last part of his sentence.
“Fine, fine! I’ll eat everything on the plate dear.”
Jin just laughed before he began eating.
Kame followed suit and they ate in comfortable silence for a few minutes.
“Jin… After we’re done eating, can I go back to sleep for a few hours? I’d really like to take advantage of our day off by getting some sleep.”
“No.”
“Jin!”
“But Kame~ I have so many fun things planned for us to do today. Plus, the guys are coming over later!”
“What kind of things?” Kame asked while Jin was picking up a piece of toast from the plate in the middle of the table.
“Umm… Going for a walk in the park, uhh… Going to the zoo, going to… Uhh… See a movie.” Jin said, his pauses indicating that he had been lying about having many fun things said.
Kame gave Jin a blank stare.
“And umm… We could go shopping? Oh, and how about we go visit Kusano? I bet he’d love that!”
“Jin, shut up and eat your toast.” Kame said calmly as he picked up his glass of tea and took a sip, it was indeed his favorite kind. Jin indeed shut up and ate his toast, afraid he’d invoke Kame’s wrath (especially since Jin had woken him up so early in the morning on their day off).
“But… I would love to go shopping today. We should invite Kusano to come along with us. Oh and maybe one of the juniors... I did promise Senga that I’d take him shopping with me one of these days.” Kame said, smirking somewhat as he talked.
Jin knew that smirk. That smirk meant he’d be paying for anything that Kame wanted that day. It didn’t really matter since he’d happily pay for it anyways, it being Kame’s birthday and all.
“So, you mentioned the guys were coming over later right? You must mean Tat-chan, Junno, Maru and Koki right?”
Jin nodded his head in reply.
“Good, because last time you decided to invited the ‘guys’ over, meaning along with our own group, you invited NEWS and Kanjani8. The apartment got trashed and I had to clean it up. Thankfully Tat-chan and Koyama were nice enough to help me clean it up.”
Jin looked a bit sheepish at that. The apartment had indeed gotten trashed because when you put that many guys in one apartment, with lots of food and drinks, it got pretty crazy.
“Well Jin, I’m done eating and I am going back to sleep for a few hours. You are welcome to join me if you’d like.”
Kame stood up and turned away from the table, getting ready to walk away, but he was stopped by Jin who had jumped up and out of his chair and grabbed his wrist.
“Kame, wait! I haven’t given you your present yet!”
Kame sighed and turned around, freeing his wrist from Jin’s grasp.
“Right then. Can you give it to me so I can open it and then go back to bed?”
“Wait! You have to blow out the candles on your cake!”
Cake. Of course. Kame should have known that Jin must have had him a cake… And surprisingly didn’t make a mess of the kitchen in the process. Jin saw the look that crossed Kame’s face when he mentioned cake.
“I know what you’re thinking, but I didn’t make you a cake this year. I went out and bought one. I didn’t want a repeat of what happened last time, though it really wasn’t my fault… That mixer was evil!”
Kame rolled his eyes but smiled none the less.
“Whatever. Get the cake so I can blow out the candles and then open my present. Oh, and don’t you dare try and make me eat any cake. We can save it for later alright?”
Jin just nodded and went off to get the cake. A few minutes later found Jin standing in front of Kame with a cake with a lit candle on it. The cake was turtle shaped.
“… A turtle Jin?”
“It suits you well, don’t you think?”
“Jin, why is the turtle pink?”
“Well, I thought that it being green would make it just like any other turtle shaped cake, so I asked Yamapi and he said I should get it in pink.” Jin smiled at his logic.
Kame just shook his head and after letting Jin sing him happy birthday, he blew out the candle. After that was over with, Jin went and retrieved a box from the bathroom (Kame wasn’t going to ask why it had been in the bathroom) and handed it to Kame, a bright baka smile on his face. Kame gave Jin a smile before he began to open the box.
“Jin… What is this?”
“Uhhh…”
“Jin, is this a Lolita dress?!”
“Uhhh...”
“What the hell, Jin?!”
“I thought you’d look pretty in it?” Jin said, giving Kame a questioning look.
“I’m not a girl, Jin!”
“I know but, I thought we could role play...”
“Jin, I’m not wearing this.”
Jin pouted. “But Kame… I had that made specifically for you! Look, it even has shiny green turtles and pirate skulls on it. That makes it less girly!”
Kame just glared at Jin.
“I’m going back to bed and don’t you dare wake me up either.” Kame stormed towards the bedroom, but he paused at the doorway and turned to look in Jin’s direction.
“Jin… Thank you for making me breakfast. And thank you for the cake, it’s really cute.” And thank you for the dress. Kame intentionally left out that last sentence. He didn’t want Jin to know that he actually liked it… Yet.
Kame turned away after seeing the grin on Jin’s face. That night after their bandmates left, Kame went into the bedroom and came back out wearing the dress.
Needless to say, Jin found out that Kame actually liked the dress. But Kame did threaten him with no sex for six months if he ever told anyone that Kame liked it.
Jin never told anyone that Kame liked it. He did, however, happily tell all of his friends about giving Kame the dress.
OAWARI~! ((Hehe, this is so late. >< But at least I got it done! xD It was fun to write too, and I actually came up with the dress idea as I was writing it, and well….you see what happened. xD))
