Testing todays youth

I pulled over, had the passanger open the window, and said to the lady and boy, "Are you just going to trhough that can on someone's lawn? Don't you think that is a bit rude?" I waited for them to blink in sheer disbelief that I confronted them, instead the mother, looked at her kid (probably 15 or so) and said,
"I thought you put that in your pocket".
She looked back and gave him a look that should have melted an iceberg, seriously a full blown North Pole deal. "YOU GO BACK THERE RIGHT NOW. HOW DARE YOU!" The show wasn't for me, I promise you. She thanked me and said, "Thanks, I honestly thought he put it in his pocket. Thanks for letting me know."

Instead of indignant, the boy slunk back and said he was sorry. But he didn't look beaten down, just busted. It was a healthy lesson for him, and her, and

ME!

You could have blown me over with a feather!

But that my friends is responsibility. That is how I was raised, that parents still took responsibility and embarrassment for their children, and parents still made their children fear them/respect them enough to do the right thing.

Though lets be honest, so many people will do stuff when they think society isn't watching them. Oh the things people do when an external conscious isn't guilding them.

society, litter, discipline
