Moving Drabble for open_on_sunday

Ever since the show ended, I've been feeling sympathy for Buffy much more than I ever used to. It's very odd.

Anyway, the drabble, which I couldn't think of a name for:

Warnings: None.

...

She was pretty sure she could do it. Over the past couple of weeks she’d been able to do all kinds of neat stuff.

OK, here goes. She leapt; span once, ( Read more... )

Poor Buffy. Wow, don't say that often.

Me neither. I think that, without her whining at me every week, something odd's happened....

Hello, I thought I would move my conversational commenting over here rather than clogging up open_on_sunday, and express my admiration for your Buffy drabble here too. You can just see her doing her big-liquid-eyes thing at the end.

I like your sheep very much. Why did you choose them?

Well, thank you again! Even though I can't believe I wrote the big-liquid-eyes thing without realising - it's been my nemesis for so long. *shakes head in shame*

Mostly, I chose the sheep 'cause I had a picture of them from when I went up to Scotland - I'm paranoid that, if I use something of the Internet, someone's going to come along and yell at me. Also, I do like sheep, even though I have no idea why - all they do is give me weird results on Quizilla.

I just read your thing on Joss vs. the mobile - it's very interesting, though makes me wish that I'd upgrade my ancient 3210. I can't help but think that Joss also likes having all the cell phones so that he can emphasise yet again, that the characters have problems communicating with each other.

"the characters have problems communicating with each other"

Gosh, was he trying to say that? He is a subtle, subtle man. You'll be saying he isn't big on fathers next.

I think the 3210 was the apotheosis of mobile phones. Everything since then has been the same deal, but less intuitive and somewhat shinier.

He is a subtle, subtle man.

That he was. I'm currently in the process of constructing a "Symbolism for Dummies" cover - with the bit in Chosen where they all walk through different doors. I've yelled it at the TV so many times that I thought it at least deserved to be made.

And maybe...but it wouldn't half be nice to be able to take photos.

She didn’t try any more moves, and just skated faster and faster round the rink, refusing to cry.

And so begins her urge to run away...

Lovely!

Thank you! I'm glad you like these old bits and bobs. (I feel the need to apologise about my harshness to Buffy in the comment thread - I really didn't like her for a long time, but now I adore her. It's been an good lesson in why to stay out of bashing in fanfic, which thankfully I always tried to.)
