It's great - set out like the CLC too, so there's some vocab in there as well and it starts off nice and easy before more tenses etc. get introduced. :D

Hmm... What I mean, to re-idiomaticise it, is:

Technically that's 'I squee' or 'I am squeeing'! :P 'Squee' as a noise (/indeclinable exclamation) should stay the same. Else you're just doing bad Buffyverse spell!Latin...

(I should admit at some point that I'm not actually a fan of the CLC and can't remember most of it - but it keeps attracting all the people who write Latin! Tis a conundrum.)

I've never used the CLC, but I remember you mentioning it in the past, and this fic is fun! I'm only about halfway through because my Latin dictionary is in another state and I am soooo out of practice, but OMG SO MUCH <3.

It's very much an institution for the people who used it, I think - and I like it when Doctor Who goes to Pompeii and finds Caecilius and co. there... But I just wish people would write about other things! Like, I dunno, Virgil!

Having said that, the fic is still fabulous - a little awkward in its prose by the end, but great fun! :D

Bloody hell! Hard work erat. Bloody hard work. I gave up Latin in 1972! Fortunately I've supervised enough Latin exams over the years to have retained some basic competence, but this truly stretched my abilities. I think I need to email some Classicists I know with the details here!

Well, it's always nice to stretch yourself every now and then! It does get quite difficult by the end (and I think(?) one or two typos have crept into the longer sentences, which throw them off slightly), so a very well done to you, I say!
