Like Journey, my Spuffy love will go on and on and on.

If this was the show, I'd probably be pissed. For me, though, as it is, it's just one of many stories. I totally understand why other people are upset about it, but idk, I don't expect much of Joss.

Oh, the Spuffy love will always be there with me! They aren't taking that yet (the bastards!).

I can't work out where I am with the comics. They don't feel 'real' to me, because I spend at least half of my time going 'this is all horrifically OOC' and failing to invest, but I think there's another part of me that sees this as what Joss would have done if there had been another season on TV, and my disappointment's reflected from that. For every wunderreunion of joy Bangel gets, Spuffy just seems to get these skated-over, half-arsed attempts at putting their two characters on the same page. I know I'm supposed to be enthused about Bangel stopping/destroying the world with their reunion and be sure that Spuffy are going to continue to interact while getting the job done, etc. etc. - but all I want is some time to be invested in them, like they actually matter.

*sigh* Sorry for the whinge - I think I need to write more fic...

See, I think the complete lack of budget limitations has completely changed the course of the story. Joss would never have been able to make "Season 8" into S8 of the show. It would have been impossible. In a comic book, of course Mecha!Dawn vs. Giant!Dawn makes sense.

I would have been way less pissed if the B/A stuff happened on TV. You know why? Because Joss was a big part of the TV series, but the actors were also a huge part. If SMG and DB were onscreen, what was going on would probably have been completely transparent from the beginning. Also more interesting. Also SMG has a no-nudity clause in her contract. ;)

Sidenote: I like Willow in Season 8. I think I may be continuing to read the series just for her. Weird, because Willow is generally not one of my favorite characters.

Hey, everyone needs to whinge a bit now and then!. *hugs* I'm taking your suggestion and writing some now. Fic cures all ills.

He might not have been able to do exactly the same sort of thing, but if we believe Joss that the emotional trajectory is the most important thing for him (though S8 has pulled that into question as well), then the shape of the story could easily have stayed the same. The plot could have been just as ill-structured, even if the components were slightly less ludicrous.

Considering B/A is apparently a case of 'drugs made them do the wacky, but it's still them, just souped up', I think I still would have been depressed. Because, obviously, Buffy Never Moved On and she is in exactly the same emotional place as she was in IWRY, two/three years after Chosen, and will go there at the slightest push.

As for Willow... She seems to me to be more of a Mary Sue than ever. I quite like Kennedy now, though, so it kind of irritates me more. ;)

Fic is the ultimate panacea. I also have boring work to do today, but I must get some of that it as well. Also some of my Darla vid. (Oh yes, Darla vid! To this song!! Though with a lot of the ( ... )

Ignoring all of the actual content of this comment:
Darla vid!!!!! *goes to listen to song*

I really want to do a vid about the Aurelius clan to this song, but I have to, uh, finish watching AtS first.

Ooooh - that has such a great beat!! I think my vid is going to be mostly modern-day Darla (in A2), but the flashbacks are so ripe for vidding! All the colours!

Yes! :D

(I didn't know FFL was a crossover episode until, like, April. This April. For shame!)

:O For utter shame! Darla is one of my favourite AtS episodes ever!! (Mostly for when, after all his whiteknighting, Darla tells Angel to stuff himself... Oh no, I didn't just give away my theme.)

I think this is quite possibly true. :D (The question is, why don't more vidders?)
