5 topics

Ask me and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.
My 5 subjects are from the awesomeness that i know as allconsoffun .....

the fab 5:

1) baby blankets/quilts
I make them. Lots of them. I like to welcome every baby into the world with something handmade. And since
I'm broke right now and using up my fabric stash, all it costs me is time and love. Things that are
handmade are more special to give, and I try to give handmade whenever I can.

2) kitty cats (you always have great kitty advice for me)
I have two at the moment, Shadow is a geriatric black persian who came to us as a stray, and Chester
belonged to stevie's best friend - he wants him back after a year, and he's going to get a fight. I love cats,
nothing can lift my spirits like a well-timed purr can.

3) sibling rivalry
It sucks. I'm the oldest and thus the mature and responsible one. Growing up it was bad because I got all the
honors, awards, etc and he resented me for it. After an honor student who always did her homework and never
got into trouble in class, they had no idea what to do with a hyperactive, ADD, LD boy. He had a lot of my old
teachers which made it worse. My brother will be 22 but acts like he is 14 and gets away with it. I'm sick of it. He
cannot be counted on for anything and is extremely irresponsible with even daily tasks. I love him,  he loves me,
I know, but that doesn't make it less frustrating to deal with.

4) baking
I love to bake. I make cookies, brownies, pie, baklava, you name it. I make and decorate cakes, I make baked
goods for Ronald McDonald house, and I do a bunch for church stuff. I am known for my superior chocolate
chip  cookies among my brothers friends, and for the iced chocolate brownies I make...my mother's recipe,
which irritates her no end when someone refers to them as MY brownies.

5) church functions -
We have several big ones a year, like God and Country Day (last weekend in June), the graduation breakfast (first sunday in June), the winter banquet (valentine's day), and the Pie social (Thanksgiving Eve). Then there are showers, birthday parties, class parties, etc. I have become known as a hostess for things as I am methodical about planning and make sure there is something for everyone to enjoy.  For a small church, we have a lot of food - jokes have been made that we should rename ourselves the church of the covered dish. What can I say, we're baptists, we like to eat!
