Hatake Kakashi accepted his first team when he was seventeen. He had wanted to flunk them like he usually did, but this team contained an Uchiha, and he owed it to Obito to give the boy a chance.
The boy wasn't like his distant cousin. This one was a prodigy even among his stellar clan. He was quiet and isolated from his teammates. He was young for a genin, but Kakashi had been younger. In many ways, it was like seeing another version of himself.
Kakashi made a silent promise to Obito that he would teach Uchiha Itachi how to care.
