Author’s Notes: I just had an urge to write this and for this pairing. I guess, I miss writing for them. Supposedly, this was angst but I suddenly changed my mind. So, I’m giving you fluff instead. I hope you find this one-shot fic worth reading.
Disclaimers: Tennis no Oujisama and all its characters belong to Konomi-sensei. Only the plot is mine.

Delinquent
He is, Tezuka thinks, a man who strictly follows rules.
Tezuka sleeps exactly eight hours every day, no more and no less than it. He drinks at least ten glasses of water throughout the day; two glasses of milk, one in the morning and one in the evening. He exercises daily, never missing a day except when he is sick which is rare.
He wakes up at five in the morning for a morning jog. He goes back at five thirty for a shower and breakfast with his family before going to school at six. He is promptly at the bus station by six-ten. The bus arrives five minutes after and he gets off after thirty minutes.
Just in time for morning practice.
Yet today, he finds himself doing everything to the letter except for a few things. He still promptly leaves home at six but he goes to a different bus station. He doesn’t answer the ringing mobile phone in his bag; he knows it is Oishi, most probably worried that he doesn’t find the buchou in the bus.
He sees his stop and gets off the bus. There are students rushing around him; he should be as well but he isn’t. Instead, he walks briskly towards a shop. The old woman smiles at him brightly as if she knows why he is there.
Something that Tezuka really doesn’t.
He walks again, thinking this time. He knows where he is going but he doesn’t know why he has decided to skip school to go there. He knows that he could easily do this after school and not miss any of his classes.
But when he woke up this morning, there was something nagging him not to delay anything.
“Mitsu?”
He turns around and almost laughs at the surprised look on the other’s face. Cerulean eyes are wide, searching for possible explanations for his sudden appearance. There isn’t any, if he would ask Tezuka, but he doesn’t answer the unvoiced question.
Instead, he surprises the other even more.
“A bouquet of tulips? They’re really beautiful.”
Coffee eyes watch his face. Sea-tinted eyes sparkle, thin lips curving into a very sweet smile. His small nose wrinkles a bit as he smells the tulips. The sun touches his silver hair and gives it a warm glow. He is beautiful and exquisite, he thinks.
He reaches out, his hand moving before the nerves in his brain start to function. His fingers gently brush his cheeks. His lips are moving to say something but he never gets to voice it out. Tezuka’s lips are already on his, his other arm holding him close to him.
It is at that moment that Tezuka understand that little smile the old lady had. He finally understands why he got up this morning and without another thought, rides the bus to his place.
“You’re supposed to be in school,” he says as he leans on Tezuka, breathless.
A smile curves Tezuka’s lips. He shakes his head.
“No. I’m supposed to be with you, Kojiroh.”
Saeki’s head shoots up and stares at Tezuka’s chocolate eyes. There are questions - the Tezuka he knows, his boyfriend of two years, is not romantic to say the least - but he is afraid to ask them. He doesn’t want to destroy the moment.
There are answers in Tezuka’s eyes.
He chuckles, shaking his head. Perhaps, he muses, his rule-following-board of a boyfriend suddenly got up at the romantic side of his bed. He pulls him down for a kiss not really caring that a lot of his teammates and classmates are now catcalling.
As Tezuka sinks into the kiss, he thinks that sometimes you have to forget the rules. Follow your heart and see where it takes you. Do it without fear of what will happen because you won’t regret the surprise you will receive in the end.
He smiles. Tezuka knows he doesn’t.
