I burned two batches of cookies. ::headdesk:: One second they're not done, and then I look again and they're dark brown. What a waste of time.
If you like fantasy, especially slightly strange modern-urban fantasy, you should read Charles De Lint. Amazing stuff. I got a bunch of his books at the library and just finish one and pick up another and another and another. This is why my parents keep glaring at me and asking me what I've done that's productive. I'M READING! THIS IS CULTURAL! AND LEARNED! OR SOMETHING! ;) Anyway, his writing is great, and the best thing is that he's written tons of books, so I can actually have something to read for a while.
Everyone else's lives sound so exciting in comparison to mine. Mine is kinda boring.
I hate those letters they send "acknowledging that we have received your resume," because I never hear anything else. I'd at least like an interview, please? I know I don't have 5 years of experience in whatever, but I know I can do the job competently. A monkey could do the job competently. Why do you think you need 5 years experience in this very specific field?
