Well, I finally have something interesting going on in my life, so I thought I'd update. How is it that everyone else posts these interesting things all the time? If I posted that often, my LJ would look like this:

Worked on thesis, fell asleep, played a computer game. Repeat.
with maybe a few "went to class"es in there.
I lead a boring life.

Which is why this is exciting, at least for me. I got both internships I wanted this semester. Both! Admittedly, I have no idea how I'm going to fit them both in, but I'll work something out. One of them is working in the research department at the Chicago Historical Society on a project for their new lobby called the "Treasures Exhibit". This could be interesting, or it could be more boring research, which, considering I am already researching constantly for my thesis, would be bad.

And the other, which I just got today, is with the exhibit design company Teller Madsen, which my prof from last semester, Prof. Teller, owns. And I don't know what I'll be doing with that yet, but it should be cool. I'm hoping it'll be less research and more...well...anything else, but it should be cool. The only problem I'm having is that it means I'll be driving into the city at least three, possibly four days a week during rush hour. Which is not fun at all, but at least I've got some way to learn about the field of public history. So that, you know, I'm not working at McDonald's for the rest of my life.
