The Vegetarian
I read "The Vegetarian" and i do not recommend it. Or at least if you read it skip the part where she remembers how they punished the dog that bit her. I can't get that horrible image out of my head. *shudder*
The book had lots of horrible things in it. But it did capture how odd we are as human beings... how what goes on in our heads is not the fluff presented in main stream entertainment.
It was definitely an odd read.
Perhaps some of that is the translation - but i don't think so. ..such odd plot/thoughts can't come only from cultural or language misunderstandings imho.
Anyway. ..read if you like odd - but skip that section!
