I wanna be a man, is all. I keep thinking about what I wanna be like as an adult. Being like Mr. K would be really cool. He's really awesome. I also admire my grandfather...he's a man's man. Anything but my father, I've decided. Well, no. That's not fair to him. He has a lot of really good qualities to him. I don't think it's so fair to just disregard him completely. He has a heart for God, and when he's for the spirit, he's an awesome guy.
I guess I should really aim for Jesus, though. That'll be the ticket right there. Today, I stopped myself in front of temptation. Usually, I just give in, but today, I didn't. I suppose I'm pretty proud of myself for that. I feel better, more clear. It's different when you actually do the right thing. It really is so much easier to do the right thing when it goes along with you want to do to begin with, but when it challenges your immediate desires, man, that's really hard stuff. I'm growing to be more enduring, which I'm really happy about. It's true that through obiediance, you find God more and more. I feel better just making the right decision.
So my goal for now is to improve myself as a man and as an adult. I want to be the best husband, father, brother, and son that I can be. And not only that, I wanna be the best friend I can be! I feel like I shortchange my friends to often with lame-o behavior. I'm sure they're not as worried about it as I am, though.
I got my learner's, so, I'm driving around. That makes me happy. I'm gonna be heading out to Illinois to attend Lora's graduation from boot camp...maybe she'll come back with me! I'll just pray for the best.
I think everything'll be okay if I stay on the right track. That's really the ticket, is staying on the right track. When I fall off, the feelings of doubt and insecurity rock me thoroughly, and I don't want that.
Doing that right thing makes me feel really peaceful, and clean. I really like it. Talking about God does that too...I witnessed to this guy in a resteraunt the other day, and man, it charged me. I love it.
-Go to church.
-Pray, read some scripture.
-Spend money wisely.
-Do the little things to stay on track.
Doing what you set your heart on in life is what it's all about. Nothing's more gratifying than hitting your goals and dreams the way you wanted. I'm headin' there!
