I <3 Kevlar

A couple of days ago, while I was biking home from Mountain View, my back tyre developed a puncture (no doubt due to the many glass shards that decorate the roads). Fortunately, I was only a couple of miles - OMG, I've begun thinking in bloody imperial units - from home so I wheeled my bike to the bike shop, locked it up there and walked home. In the morning I walked to work, which took 50 minutes. Then, when the bike store opened, I went there and told them to replace both inner tubes with Kevlar-sheathed ones fortified by Mr. Tuffy so that I don't need to worry about this happening in future.

I've also recently procured a pair of Vivo Barefoot Aqua shoes that have extremely thin Kevlar-lined soles designed to let you walk as though you were barefoot without worrying about stepping on something sharp. After using for a few hours I developed a new appreciation for the texture of the surfaces on which I walk because I can feel everything I step on now. It's like a whole new walking experience!
