Your President Flies
Uh...in downtown Austin, someone had stencilled "Your Preisident Lies" all over the sidewalk and somebody came by and added an F and I liked that version better.
At any rate, last nighet, I dreamt that out of the blue, President Bush appeared on TV and started telling some strange story about how he saved some classmates from a burning schoolhouse when he was a kid. Someone asked why the school was on fire and he said somebody tried to blow it up.
This made no sense to me. School shootings are a relativly new phenomenon and while I know the Columbine shooting wasn't the first one, that's the only time I can remember someone actually trying to blow up a school. Well, I've seen bomb threats since then...but the point is, I couldn't think of why his school would be blowing up. I figured he wanted to make himeslf seem like a hero so people would actually support the war effort and he was indeed suddenly being treated like a hero.
I was at a school for who knows what reason and my mom was working there. The President was going to give an assembly of some kind and tell his wonderful story. I sat out in the hallway wondering how anyone could believe what he was saying.
When my mom came out afterwards, I asked her what tabloid he bought that story from and we laughed.
I must have had a false awakening or two in there because I remember looking back on that and wondering if I dreamt about that whole thing while I was dreaming. Awk. So annoying.
