Well guys and girls, it has been a little while since my last update, but I was out getting stories to relate to you. Sunday after Bellaire's graduation I made the long trek up to Dallas with my mum to visit Manda for her school's graduation. I'm leaning towards the fact that I'm a bit of a masochist since that would mean three graduations in three days, oh the fun.
Graduation was pretty typical except the participants were my elementary school classmates, for the most part since I had not seen since the days of recess as a daily favorite and milk in cardboard cartons. It was a bit eerie to see these people no longer 3 feet high and now fully developed into the typical calculating or slothful students that most high school tend to produce. Inevitably, thoughts did go through my head as to what would have happened if I had never left quaint Highland Village, or if I would have been happier had I never known Florida or Houston.
After graduation, a good group of about 20 people congregated at the local hangout, Steak 'n Shake. I kid you not guys, a place where you can get it all at the same time, steak and shakes. It boggles the mind! Sadly the service didn't match up to the fab food, since she somehow managed to foul up all our orders (well-done there...) but hey, it meant our food was free and free food is good food.
At long last I saw good ole Ciro Mateo again, who must be one of the most eccentric people I have ever had the good fortune of meeting. He demanded that we all go over to his house for a surprise, and upon arrival of his house he had the old-school, classic boardgame Life out. Most of us hadn't played the game in years and it seemed fitting that we leave high school in much the same manner that we started school, being completely silly and playing games.
Here are some valuable leasons that I learned:
1) It DOESN'T matter what career you choose, only that you can steal that famed $100,000 dollar salary card from someone else
2) it DOES in fact help you in Life to start college and not career
and
3) It ALWAYS pays to stop and get a Life
I can always count on the Dallas crew for all the spontanaity and witty banter I could ever want.
