a yearly tradition

Nov 27, 2008 12:13

it is cheesy, but i like it.  i am thankful for:

1.  a long, long weekend at home with my mom for relaxation and comfort
2.  a stable job that i enjoy--always, but particularly in times like these
3.  friends from every phase of life, for every occasion who are close enough either physically or via the interwebs to make me smile daily
4.  my grandparents, still kicking it after 58 years of marriage and entertaining us as only an old married couple can do
5.  the election results, still
6.  SU beating kansas and the emails i got directly after it--maybe we will be not horribly painful to watch this year?
7.  my newly discovered gym membership discounts that should make it completely irresponsible to not go to the gym
8.  a wonderfully clean bill of health from my doctor earlier this week
9.  rick astley on the macy's thanksgiving day parade
10. the ability to live by myself in a lovely little apartment where i make all the messes and no one thinks i'm weird when i have an impromptu dance party
11. my grandmother's stuffing that i will eat in approximately six hours
12. tv shows that make me giggle--how i met your mother, gossip girl, the abc shows i watch with michael
13. silly little friend traditions, like how sunday nights are for michael or going to the queens mall with erica
14. dance parties, in all incarnations
15. new york city
16. the chocolate mousse at the cafe across the street from my house
17. my fantastic workfriends--who knew having friends at work would make life so much better?
18. five guys burgers, within walking distance from my house
19. long walks around the neighborhood with suzun
20. not leaving brooklyn on the weekends
21. hot chocolate in the winter
22. whirlwind weekends with my grad school friends
23. cheap delicious take-out ordered from the F train
24. cheap tickets to broadway shows
25. the occasional decadence of watching oprah in the afternoon

hope your thanksgiving is lovely, however you choose to spend it.
